Getting started

How do I scan my first document?

Open Scan Partner → tap the floating camera button → frame the document → the app auto-captures when steady. Review the page, edit the name if you like, then tap Save.

Where are my saved scans?

Documents tab → All Files (or whichever folder you saved them to). Tap a file to view, share, OCR, or send.

How do I scan multiple pages into one PDF?

On the camera screen, switch the mode pill to Multi-page. Capture each page; press the green checkmark when done.

Scanning quality

Edge detection is jumping around — what do I do?

  • Hold the phone parallel to the document
  • Ensure even lighting (avoid sharp shadow lines on the page)
  • Place the document on a contrasting background (light paper on dark surface, or vice versa)
  • Wait ~1 second for the smoothed detection to lock in

ID card scans are getting cut off.

Switch to the ID card mode pill before scanning. The app expects a 1.35–2.20 aspect ratio (standard card sizes) and will merge front+back automatically.

Can I improve poor-light scans?

After capture, tap the Filter option in the overflow menu (···). Try Mono or Process for printed text in low light.

OCR / Text extraction

Why is some text missing from OCR?

  • Ensure the document is in focus (tap to focus while capturing)
  • Handwriting works but is less reliable than printed text
  • Tiny print may need a closer scan; the app downsamples to 2480px max side

Can I edit the extracted fields?

Yes. After classification, tap the field name to edit. Validators check format for PAN, GSTIN, IFSC, and dates.

What languages are supported?

English, Hindi, Tamil, plus 30+ languages supported by Apple Vision Framework. Automatic language detection runs per scan.

Accounting integrations

Tally Prime isn't accepting the voucher.

  1. Settings → Integrations → Tally Prime → verify host & port (default localhost:9000)
  2. Ensure Tally Prime is running and ODBC/Gateway HTTP is enabled in Tally configuration
  3. Your iPhone and the Tally computer must be on the same Wi-Fi network
  4. Test the connection with the “Test connection” button before posting

Where do I get my QuickBooks/Zoho/Vyapar/Busy/SAP webhook URL?

Each accounting tool exposes a webhook URL in its API settings. Generate the URL there, paste it into Settings → Integrations → [Software] → “Webhook URL”. Add a bearer token if your endpoint requires one.

Custom webhook isn't receiving data.

  • Verify the URL starts with https:// (or http:// only for local LAN)
  • Check the push log: Settings → Integrations → Push History → tap a failed entry to see the HTTP status code
  • Common causes: 401 = bearer token wrong, 403 = IP not allowed, 404 = URL path typo, 500 = server-side error

Subscriptions & billing

How do I start the 7-day free trial?

Open the app → tap any Pro feature, or visit Settings → Subscription → tap Yearly · $19.99. Apple charges your payment method after the trial unless you cancel.

How do I cancel?

iOS Settings → tap your name → Subscriptions → Scan Partner → Cancel Subscription. You keep Pro until the end of the current period.

Refund policy

Apple handles all App Store purchases. Request a refund via reportaproblem.apple.com. We do not process refunds directly.

Restore purchases on a new device

Settings → Subscription → Restore Purchases. Make sure you're signed in to the same Apple ID that purchased the subscription.

Privacy & data

Is my data uploaded to your servers?

No. Scans, OCR text, and configurations live only on your iPhone. The only outbound network traffic happens when you press “Send” to an integration you configured. See the Privacy Policy.

How do I delete all my data?

Settings → Reset App Data. This deletes every scan, OCR result, integration configuration, and preference. Uninstalling the app does the same.

Can I export everything?

Yes. Long-press a folder → Export → choose ZIP (one file per document) or a combined PDF/JSON.

Security

How do I enable Face ID lock?

Settings → Security → Face ID Lock → toggle on. You'll be prompted to set a 4-digit passcode fallback.

I forgot my passcode.

For security reasons we cannot recover the passcode. Uninstall and reinstall the app — this wipes all locally stored data.

Are PDFs I share encrypted?

If you set a passcode in Settings, every PDF exported from Scan Partner is AES-128 encrypted using that passcode. Recipients must enter it to open the file.

Troubleshooting checklist

If something isn't working, try these in order before emailing support:

  1. Force-quit and reopen the app — swipe up to the App Switcher → swipe Scan Partner up
  2. Check iOS version — Scan Partner requires iOS 17.0+
  3. Check available storage — iOS limits Vision and OCR features below 200 MB free
  4. Disable Low Power Mode — Vision detection slows down significantly under power saving
  5. Reinstall as a last resort — Settings → Reset App Data first if you want a clean start
